JOB PROFILE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Answering phone calls by the standard procedure.
Ø Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently or at all time.
Ø Attending and checking email regarding delivery, takeaways and online booking.
Ø Notify the supervisor of any parties of more than six. The telephone must be answered on a maximum of three rings.
Ø Always answer the phone politely using a friendly tone and being informative.
Ø Ask the day and date required, the time they would like to dine, how many will be dinning under what name they would like the reservation, ask the phone number, ask if there is any special occasion or requirements. Once all of the information is obtained, repeat it to the customer using their name.
Ø Supervise cleanliness of ladies wash room and see that the reception is always clean.
Ø Instruct housekeeping about cleanliness and spraying air freshner in the restaurant.
Ø Folding napkins and cleaning of menu.
Ø All messages are to be taken on the appropriate message pad, and not on a scrap piece of paper.
Ø Stand at the hostess station at all times.
Ø Once at the table, pull out the chairs for the ladies first and then any other guest you can accommodate.
Ø Once the guests are seated, hand them the menu in their hand and tell them who their server will be. Then tell them to enjoy their evening at your restaurant.
Report to duty on or before scheduled time, as specified by the Restaurant Manager.
