About Reserve Bank of India

Also, known as the banker’s bank, the Reserve Bank of India is India’s Central Bank that regulates the banking and monetary policies of the Central Government of India. It was established on 1st April 1935 as per the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 and is permanently located in Mumbai ever since 1937.

The elementary functions of the Reserve Bank of India, according to Preamble of the Reserve Bank of India, constitute the following:

Job openings in RBI & eligibility criteria

To be a member of the Central Board of Directors, you’ll have to be appointed by the Central Government of India. However, there are other job roles offered under the Reserve Bank of India recruitment drives that you can apply to.

Postgraduate Degree in statistics, econometrics, or economics with at least

Postgraduate Degree in macroeconomic modelling, macroeconomics, applied statistics, development macroeconomics, or econometrics with at least 

3 years of proven work experience in advanced econometrics, handling and analyzing large data sets with tools such as MATLAB, with intimate knowledge of research and data for global bodies such as IMF, OECD, World Bank or BIS.

Postgraduate Degree in either statistics, econometrics, mathematical statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance, economics or B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science with at least 

5 years of proven work experience in the aforementioned fields or Data Science/Analytics for banking financial, or IT sectors.

Data Analyst or (DoS – DNBS)

Postgraduate Degree in either statistics, econometrics, mathematical statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance, economics or B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science with at least

Data Analyst or (DoR – DBR)

Postgraduate Degree in either statistics, econometrics, mathematical statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance, economics or B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science with at least 

5 years of proven work experience in the aforementioned fields or Data Science/Analytics for banking financial, or IT sectors.

Risk Analyst or (DoS – DNBS)

Postgraduate Degree in either management, finance, statistics, applied statistics, economics or B.Tech / B.E. in with at least 

5 years of proven work experience in risk modelling of liquidities, markets, and credit for rating agencies, NBFCs, or banks.

Risk Analyst or DEIO

PG Degree in either economics, applied statistics, statistics, management, finance with at least 5 years of proven work experience in financial companies or commercial banks OR for financial services organizations with at least 2 years of experience in credit risk and treasury operations.

RBI Jobs - Base salary, promotions, retirement age

The salary that you will receive will depend on the employee grade associated with the designation. Not only that, but your work experience/seniority will also define the pay grade. For instance, the salary of an Assistant Manager Grade ‘A’ RBI employee ranges anywhere between INR 50,000-1,50,000 per month. They have a starting basic pay of INR 28,150 per month in the scale of INR 28,150-1550(4)-34350-1750(7) – 46600 -EB-1750 (4) - 53600- 2000(1) - 55600

Similarly, RBI Grade ‘B’ employees have a starting basic pay of INR 35,150 in the scale of INR 35150-1750 (9)-50900-EB-1750 (2)-54400-2000 (4)-62400

Do keep in mind that the various emoluments and allowances are added to the basic pay which increases the compensation.

RBI has six grades A to F. These do not include the designations of Deputy Governors and the Governor who are chosen by the Government of India. Promotion for all grades comes about after years of experience and service and follows the following structure: A to B, B to C, C to D, D to E, and E to F. The retirement age of all graded employees is fixed at 60 years.
